Recreation Spending Highest Growth Area

The latest Household Survey showed the average Australian spent $1,236 on goods and services an increase of 38% or 4343 per week since 2004. One of the largest increases was in recreation, up 41% or $47 per week. This highlights the growing opportunity for 9D Action Cinemas franchises as the focus is on the recreation market and they are located in major regional shopping centres or tourism precincts.

A significant benefit is that his business is very easy to operate by just one person, has low overheads and is supported by an experienced franchisor. Of importance is that there is an income guarantee by the franchisor for a period of time to give franchisees confidence in the expected revenues.

Currently there are no competitors in Australia that offer the extensive services and support through a franchise structure. Of importance is the sustainability of this business concept in to the future. Remember when everyone said cinemas were doomed when colour TV came out or when videos were available? Well, it never happened and the cinema business is now the strongest it has ever been. This is because it continually adapts to changing environments such as introducing surround, including bars, Gold Class and digital sound. All businesses need to remain innovative and react to changing times and competition. 9D Action Cinemas also has the ability to move with the future as new movies are released often and new effects and technology can be introduced easily to ensure demand is always there for the future. Also, children under 4 years old are our future customers, so the market is always being renewed.
